Having not had the opportunity to attend high-school, the responsibility of supporting his seven younger siblings fell squarely upon Shri. Hukmichand Chordia’s shoulders at the early age of 13 years.

His early business ventures did not do very well, and Shri. Hukmichand was eventually debt-ridden. In due course, with grit and toil, he achieved success against all the odds. In spite of his humble beginnings, he never hesitated to dream big and set his sights high. He didn’t ever compromise on excellence of quality and methods, even at the very beginning.

Shri Rajkumar acquired a B.Com. Degree from Pune University and MBA from Indian Council Management Institute, Pune.

Shri Rajkumar was instrumental is expanding the company’s product line, manufacturing facilities and developing its exports market. His strong entrepreneurial capabilities have helped Suhana become the highly-respected spices brand it is, across the globe.

Vishal Rajkumar Chordia, a post graduate in Business Management from the prestigious Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune, has had an extremely versatile career till date.

A Director – Strategy & Marketing at Pravin Masalewale, he is a third generation entrepreneur managing a very dynamic business of approximately Rs. 900 crore in the foods category that proudly boasts of a distribution network not just in India, but across the globe and which has received accolades and won many awards, both at the domestic and the international level.

With strong business acumen and a keen eye for identifying opportunity, Vishal Chordia’s 17-year career has seen him and his team not only grow his business from an organically built and modest family-run spice processing unit to a professionally managed modern integrated spice products leader and a powerhouse in the spices and food industry in India, but also expanded into creating more brands including the very successful brand, SUHANA.

The company is now also exporting to 21 countries across 4 continents.

Some of his professional milestones are-
  1. 2000-01: Managed the complete redesign and reconfiguration of the company’s brands and creation of three major brand structures. All brands are showing double digit compounded growth over the last decade.
  2. 2002: Redesigned and implemented the manufacturing facilities in order to make the ‘lowest cost and most flexible’ plant in the industry.
  3. 2004-2008: Refining of the entire supply and value chain for the company including the implementation of a modern net based ERP system.
  4. 2004-to date: Extension of breadth and depth of offerings: from 44 products in 1999, to over 150 products in 350 SKUs with huge growth in consumer reach/recall.
  5. 2013: International Business: In more than 20 countries, direct representation
  6. 2014: Suhana enrolls in TESCO (World’s 2nd Largest Retailer) for mainstream market.

With the success in his company, many awards and accolades have come his way.

Vishal has many other interests and vocations besides his company and many facets to his personality. He is a passionate sportsman, having won many championships since an early age, he is an avid traveler, interested in Indian culture, history and wisdom in food and nutrition, a food lover (but surely!) a social activist, a keen educationalist, founder of selected non-profit organizations, gentle and spiritual in his beliefs and day-to-day life and loves to be surrounded by his family and friends.

Towards these pursuits, he is involved in and leads the following initiatives:

  1. Chairman – Maharashtra Khadi & Village Industries Board, Mumbai.
  2. Member on Advisory Board of Symbiosis Foundation
  3. Member on Advisory Board of Maharashtra State Minimum Wages Act
  4. Founder Member and President, Lakshya. (An NPO, that promotes budding talent in the sports culture in India)
  5. Awarded with prestigious “ICONS OF PUNE” in 2011.

He has established a non profit making organization named The Eco Factory Foundation (TEFF) with a vision to provide sustainable lifestyle solutions to rural and urban communities. His pioneering work on organic, natural farming, waste management and sustainability in rural and urban India has been remarkable. He is a true optimist and believes in motivating the young generation for building a better nation.

Seeing his contribution in area of sustainability and Clean India initiative, he was recently invited by TEDx Pune, to speak about 'Sustainability through Circular Economy' in everyday life. He has also been invited as a motivational speaker in many forums nationally and globally, to interact with entrepreneurs, farmers, students, etc...
